Robins’ unbeaten run ends

Created on 04/10/2020 @ 10:31

Newtown suffered their first defeat in four matches after returning empty handed from Penybont.

Following two draws and a midweek victory, the Robins were inching their way up the JD Cymru Premier table, but they were undone on Saturday by two second half goals.

In-form Nick Rushton gave Newtown a 25th minute lead, but strikes from Mael Daniel Davies three minutes after the break and Sam Snaeth after 68 minutes did the damage.

It won’t be easy to bounce back, with The New Saints providing the next opposition on Tuesday as they beat Flint Town United 10-0 this weekend.
