Last-gasp leveller for Robins

Created on 26/09/2020 @ 09:16

Newtown picked up their second JD Cymru Premier point of the season, but had to wait until the closing stages of their match with Aberystwyth to clinch it.

Neil Mitchell pounced in the final stages of the game to smash the ball into the roof of the net, but it was a long time coming as Newtown peppered the visitors goal at Latham Park.

Aberystwyth had taken the lead after 34 minutes when Jamie Veale found the net from the edge of the box.

David Jones pulled off a wonder save to keep Newtown in the hunt just before the break, before Newtown’s long search for an equaliser came in the 85th minute.
