Robins fail to beat 10 men

29/10/2016 @ 09:28

Newtown remain adrift at the bottom of the Dafabet Welsh Premier League after failing to overcome 10-man Llandudno at Latham Park, and are now winless in 11 games.

Lee Thomas was sent-off in the 39th-minute for striking out at Jamie Price, and the Robins had the best of the chances.

Luke Boundford had a shot cleared off the line, Shane Sutton hit the underside of the crossbar while Nathan Peate got back to clear what would have been a winner from Jason Oswell in stoppage time.

Improving Llanfair pulled off the shock of the day in the Huws Gray Alliance with a brilliant 4-2 win at title-chasing Caernarfon while Caersws got their act together at The Recreation Ground, beating Porthmadog 3-1.

Paul Griffiths hit a hat-trick for Llanfair and Andrew Hughes netted the fourth while Lance Jones, Sean Evans and Will Thomas were on target for Caersws.

In the Spar Mid Wales League Berriew continued their good run with a 6-1 win over Tywyn/Bryncrug. But Montgomery are now bottom after going down 7-1 at home to Llandrindod.
