Town councillors have agreed to stump up funding for a crossing patrol at Maesyrhandir School.

It comes after governors, parents and some town councillors raised concerns about road safety outside the school due to two construction sites operating nearby.
The town council now needs to liaise with Powys County COuncil who employ the crossing patrol staff.
The town council already provides funding for three other school crossing patrols at Penygloddfa CP School, Treowen Primary School and Ysgol Calon y Dderwen.
The Services Committee agreed to the funding at a recent meeting.
A statement said: The committee were told that the crossing patrol was needed as the school road will in future become a through road with increased traffic to comefrom the two new housing estatescurrently being built. Many school children walk to the school due to its close proximity to a residential area."
The Town Clerk will liaise with the county councilk over the matter.
