Welshpool head north to Llandudno for what is likely to be another uncomfortable afternoon in Division One North, writes Gary Williams.
The reversal of fixtures starts this week as we enter the second half of the league campaign and Pool will be hoping that Llandudno, unable to raise a side last week to go to Wrexham, may also be under strength.
There is some good news on the horizon for the Maesydre men though, as it appears that a few players, currently on the injury list, will be available for next weekend's derby against COBRA in Welshpool.
COBRA, also Division One North, face the daunting prospect, despite being at home, of putting a dent in Nant Conwy's title aspirations.
Nant, having scored 95 unanswered points at Welshpool last week, will be looking for a resounding win again this week but COBRA, at full strength, will definitely give them a run for their money early on.
In Division Two North, second-placed Newtown make the trip to Rhyl who sit one place behind them in third place with points difference separating the sides.
This will be a real test for the Mid Walians as Rhyl, since losing 39-10 at the Rec earlier in the season, have produced a winning run and will be a stern challenge for Newtown.
It’s second from bottom Llanidloes against third from bottom Machynlleth at Cae Hafren, also in Division Two.
After a great start to the season, Mach’s results have tailed off and Llanidloes will be viewing this as the chance to get their first win of the season.
With the first team hosting Nant and COBRA’s second string hosting Mold 2nds in Division Three North East, it’s going to be a tense and busy day over in Meifod.
Disappointed with their narrow cup exit last week against Tondu 2nds, COBRA 2nds have another tough game with Mold 2nds occupying second spot in the table.
Newtown Youth go in to their game at home against Bangor (2pm) with a final in the Youth Bowl next Saturday at Eirias Park as the reward for the winners.
