Newtown picked up a useful Corbett Sports Welsh Premier point with a 1-1 draw against Bala Town.

Luke Boundford put the Robins ahead after 36 minutes but an own goal from Andy Jones gave Bala a share of the spoils in the 52nd minute.

Caersws and Guilsfield advanced to the third round of the Huws Gray Alliance up with home victories.

Caersws are showing some irresistible form and goals from Mark Griffiths (2) and Neil Mitchell eased them through to a 3-0 lead before Porth pulled one back late on.

Guilsfield welcomed their 1-0 win over Cefn Druids with Martin Ziemann grabbing the only goal. Llanrhaeadr came unstuck 2-1 at Penrhyncoch despite Mike Roberts pulling them level with 10 minutes left.

The title chase in Spar One is hotting up with Llanidloes grabbing a 5-3 win at Berriew on Friday night. Waterloo Rovers scored late for a 2-2 draw at Aberystwyth University but there was a double dose of bad news at town rivals Welshpool Town. Not only did they lose 3-1 at home to Builth Wells, Town skipper Ian Jones faces a lengthy lay off after being stretchered off with ankle ligament damage.

Llansantffraid Village and Newbridge shared six goals while early season pace setters Aberaeron lost their second consecutive game 3-1 at Tywyn Bryncrug. Carno went down 5-0 at Bow Street.

Llanfair United set the pace in Spar Two still with a 5-1 win over Presteigne but there were wins for Llanfyllin, Kerry and Abermule. Llandrindod Wells stay on the shoulder of Llanfair after beating Talgarth 6-0.
