Newtown have announced the signing of former Welsh International David Cotterill.

The much-travelled Cotterill began his career with Bristol City before signing for Premier League Wigan Athletic and then joining Sheffield United.

He then joined Swansea City before spending a spell on loan at Portsmouth before transferring to Barnsley.

It was then on to Doncaster Rovers before joining Birmingham City. After a short on loan spell with Bristol City his contract with the Blues was cancelled by mutual consent and he joined ATK of the Indian Super League.

In January 2020 he came out of retirement to play for Barry Town United.

Robins Manager, Chris Hughes, was delighted to confirm the signing: “I am delighted to get the signing over the line and get David on board. His experience is just what we need."

Cotterill made his Wales debut against Azerbaijan in October 2005 and has also played for the Welsh U19s and 21s.
