George back at Latham Park

Midfielder George Hughes is back at Latham Park following a year long spell with Airbus.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who is a product of the Shrewsbury Town youth academy, spent half a season on loan with Newtown during the 2018/2019 campaign.

After a year with Airbus in the JD Cymru Premier, boss Chris Hughes has re-captured the young midfielder.

Hughes signed a professional contract with Salop in 2017 before going out on numerous loan spells.He spent time with Colwyn Bay while they were in the English non-league system, as well as stints at non-league Ciltheroe and Stalybridge Celtic.

He joined the Robins in January 2019, and town fans will remember him fondly for the wonder goal he scored away at Barry Town United.
