Llanfair United’s late charge for JD Cymru North survival continued at the coast on Saturday with a superb win at Porthmadog.

After taking an early lead, Llanfair never looked back and cruised to a brilliant 3-1 at a Porthmadog side who have relegation worries of their own.

Guilsfield’s charge for second remains on track thanks to a wonder goal from Jake Cook at Conwy Borough which secured a 2-1 win.

The villagers are still chasing Flint Town who were 2-1 winners over Llanrhaeadr.

On Friday night, Newtown suffered a 3-1 defeat in the JD Cymru Premier at Caernarfon Town.

In the MMP Mid Wales League Division One, there were wins for Caersws and Carno, while Waterloo Rovers hit Churchstoke for six in Division Two.

Llanidloes Town remain on track for a league and cup double after beating Kerry 8-3 in the league cup quarter-final.

In the Central Wales Cup, holders Berriew eased their way through to the last four with a 3-0 win over Brecon Corries.
