Llanidloes Town are just five wins away from guaranteeing the MMP Mid Wales League title after grinding out a win at Four Crosses.

The hosts will be ruing missed first half chances as the runaway league leaders tightened their grip on the trophy with a 2-0 win.

Adam Jenkins continued his rich run of form with a dramatic late show to give Guilsfield three vital points in their pursuit of second in the JD Cymru North.

Jenkins bagged the only goal of the game against Gresford in the 86th minute to keep Guilsfield within touching distance of the top two.

It was an another 86th minute goal from the penalty spot that ended injury-hit Llanrhaeadr’s hopes of points against Buckley Town, who won 2-1. A late Llanfair United fightback wasn’t enough as the bottom side went down 3-2 at home to Colwyn Bay.

Welshpool Town’s FAW Trophy adventure came to a halt with a 3-0 quarter-final defeat at home to Holyhead Hotspur.

Waterloo Rovers stay in the division two promotion hunt after their 3-0 win at Abermule.

In the Llansantffraid Village Cup, second round, Llanrhaeadr eased through with a 3-0 win at Llanymynech.

Montgomeryshire Amateur League favourites Guilsfield Reserves picked up a 3-0 win on the road at Trefonen.
