Tourism officer to help promote Newtown

A tourism officer will soon be helping promote Newtown to the wider world.

The temporary role is part of Newtown Town Council's objective to attract more visitors to the town and councillors were told at a recent Services Committee meeting that a candidate had accepted the job.

Council officer, Liz Gittins, said the person would take up the role on 1 May.

Councillors welcomed the appointment.
