Record Country Music Festival raises £32k for charity

The glorious summer we are enjoying has led to our biggest event recording record gate receipts and raising more money for charity than ever before.

The Welshpool Country Music Festival has raised a whopping £32,000 for the Heulwen Trust, who provide free day trips along the Montgomery Canal for less‑abled adults and a large number of schoolchildren.

It’s a 30% increase on the money raised last year and organisers told us that daily visitors were up by an incredible 40% on last year.

Whilst actual numbers are unavailable, the showground in Powis Park was full of colourful attendees from across the UK who enjoyed first-class country music and over 40 trade stands.

“With record achievements and overwhelming community support, the Annual Country Music Festival continues to grow not only as a celebration of music and culture but as a vital fundraiser for the Heulwen Trust’s life‑changing work,” a spokesperson for the Trust said. “Welshpool can proudly look forward to an even brighter festival next July.

“None of this would be possible without the festival’s dedicated volunteers. Their commitment is nothing short of extraordinary. These individuals give countless hours — often long days in challenging conditions — to ensure every detail is perfect.

“From setting up stalls at dawn to guiding visitors long after sunset, their passion and perseverance are the backbone of the festival’s success. The organisers remain eternally grateful for their hard work, generosity, and unwavering spirit.”
