Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the fourth Newtown 10K later this month.
Organisers Adrenaline Sporting Events say between 700 and 800 runners are expected for the event on Sunday, 24 May, which starts at 9am and follows a fast one lap course through Newtown on fully closed roads and pathways.
The race starts and finishes at Open Newtown in the Back Lane car park and includes sections alongside the River Severn, with organisers describing it as suitable for everyone from first time runners to experienced athletes.
Nidec has been confirmed as the title partner for this year’s event, which is now in its fourth year.
Road closures will begin from 8.15am, with runners asked to arrive from 8am ahead of the warm up at 8.40am. Free parking will be available at Back Lane Car Park until 1pm.
Organisers are also appealing for volunteers to help support the event on race day. Anyone interested in volunteering is being asked to contact the organisers directly by email.
The race is organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events, which runs a series of road running events across Mid Wales, Shropshire and North Wales.
