CCTV could identify fly tippers in local parkland.

CCTV might have to be used to identify fly tippers dumping rubbish at public green spaces in Newtown.

In its latest report to Newtown Town Council, Open Newtown, which leases and manages 130 acres of town and county council parkland, said it is investigating options.

It comes after residents have regularly reported rubbish being dumped in different areas, including near Trehafren and Vaynor, as well as Dolerw Park.

Open Newtown said its contractor empties litter bins throughout the green spaces twice a week and they work closely with them to deal with any litter issues quickly and effectively.
