Newtown Local History Group is appealing for volunteers to help digitise its quarterly magazine following requests from former residents living abroad.
The group wants someone with storytelling skills and digital photography experience to help develop their website, social media presence and create a digital version of the Newtonian Journal.
The publication, which started in 2000, has now reached 85 volumes and is approaching its 100th edition. The milestone volume will be a special full-colour feature on local artist Brian Jones, who has painted Newtown's historic buildings over five decades.
Secretary of the group said they had received "a number of requests" for digital copies from Newtonian expats around the world as the journal celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The History Group received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2013 - the equivalent of an MBE for volunteer groups.
Jones, who worked as a textile designer for Laura Ashley from 1972, has documented the town's architectural heritage through his paintings for 50 years.
The group produces four issues per year, available from the Robert Owen Museum and Oriel Davies Gallery for £1.50 each, or by annual subscription for £10 including postage.
