Newtown pool ace Drew Hughes has turned professional.
The 24-year-old went professional last month after being awarded IPA Amateur Player of the Year 2014.
Drew has been playing pool for Wales since he was 11 years of age, starting from juniors to Men's A and are currently world champions.
He plays in the Newtown and Welshpool pool leagues and was ranked number one at under 16, under 18 and under 21 levels.
He was double European champion at the age of 18 winning the under 21s and the men's singles in the same week. He broke 2 records being the youngest player to win the mens and the only player to win both events the same year.
He said his
aim now is to get to number one and win more tournaments against the best players.
He is currently being sponsered on the IPA tour by Mirrens steak house and tapas bar, Recruitment solutions, Whittaker and Co, The Buck, Newtown and KJHughes Roofing.
