Newtown Police Surgery: 100 not out!

Created on 18/11/2010 @ 11:56

Newtown Police Surgery has struck a significant landmark after welcoming its 100th customer.
The surgeries are part of Dyfed-Powys Police’s commitment to community engagement by providing the residents of Newtown the opportunity to chat on a fortnightly basis to a local Neighbourhood Management Team representative.
Held at the customer information centre in Back Lane, Newtown, they enable members of the community to come and meet the Neighbourhood Management Team and share their concerns and ideas regarding a variety of local issues including Anti-Social Behaviour.
PCSO Jennings and PCSO Edwards welcomed Tanya Ottaway to the surgery as the 100th customer who walked away with a resolution to her issue and a box of chocolates courtesy of Newtown Neighbourhood Management Team.
PCSO Jennings says: “The surgery is open to all between 2pm-4pm every fortnight dealing with all matters from litter to immigration issues or just a friendly chat. This has been a revolutionary way to engage with the community and the success is measured with the numbers attending in the short time the surgery has been running.”
