Steve Evans celebrated his birthday with the highest checkout of the night by hitting a 122 against Fellow Newtown player Andy Waters in the Newtown Premier League Darts.
Jim Williams however has hit the top of the league for the first time this year. Williams who will miss premier league action throughout August due to BDO commitments has a three point lead over Mark Layton and Mitch Butler, both Layton and Butler have two games in hand on Williams.
Mitch Butler suffered his first defeat of the season by four legs to one to Williams but still remains a hot favourite to qualify for the semi finals with just the two points dropped so far this year.
Steve Degville kept his hopes alive with two wins against Gavin Evans and Ben Amos respectively.
Former Welsh international Neil Astley was held to a draw by "Dynamite Dave Smith and Howard Johnson found his true form by also forcing a draw with Terry Nash. Craig the "Nugget" Davies hit his 11th 180 of the season and is clear of the field in the 180 table.
