A new computer sales and repair business incorporating an internet cafe has opened in Newtown, launched by mother and daughter entrepreneurs Christine and Katie Hartland.
Bitz 'N' PC's has opened in Butterfly Lane, between the Ladywell Shopping Centre and Oceans Fish Bar, with a complete computer sales, repair and internet cafe. The shop was offiically opened by Newtown's Mayor, Cllr Val Howard, on Friday and brings another new business to the town centre.
"I'd been working with schools throughout Powys and then set up the business working from home. But when Katie finished her IT course at college we decided to go into partnership and set up Bitz 'N' Pc's," said Christine.
The new business is open to consumers and businesses and provides a range of services, from PC sales to repairs, including transferring data from an old PC to a new one. "We're competing with the high street and internet and we can offer some very good deals," added Christine.
They also offer wifi access at the internet cafe as well as use of the latest spec PCs. "It's a great opportunity for anyone to pop in and connect to the internet if they're working or they just need access e-mails or the web while on the go," said Christine.
