Lorry driver not injured in railway collision

A lorry driver involved in a collision with barriers on the railway level crossing on the A470 near Caersws was not injured.

The incident, which happened earlier today, caused a train to stop close to the crossing and delayed services for most of the day on the Cambrian Railway between Abersywtyth, Newtown and Shrewsbury.

The trunk road was closed in both directions, causing congestion in the surrounding area.

The road was re-opened after 1.50pm and rail services resumed.
