New cancer charity hub opens its doors in Newtown

A new cancer charity hub has opened in Newtown.
The Lingen Davies Charity Hub is based at Plas Dolerw. It will raise awareness of cancer and provide a range of support services.
Russell George MS welcomed the opening on Thursday.
The charity hub will raise awareness of the work of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund which supports people in Mid Wales and Shropshire to access a range of support while dealing with life-changing illnesses.
A new Powys Cancer Champion Coordinator, Helen Davies, will lead work from the hub.
Mr George, Senedd member for Montgomeryshire, said: “Lingen Davies has supported so many people in Mid Wales who are often experiencing the distressing challenges that cancer brings.
I’m grateful to all the charity’s volunteers and the wider team for their work. The new charity hub is an important step for cancer awareness - allowing the charity to raise critical funds for its future operations, and support families closer to home.
