Newtown man found guilty of daughter's manslaughter

Newtown man Alun Titford has been found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter following the death of his daughter Kaylea.

Titford, 45, was found guilty at Mold Crown Court today. The court had heard how his daughter, who had spina bifida, had been left in conditions that were degrading and inhumane.

Jurors had been told she was morbidly obese and had been confined in bed.

Titford had denied the charges following a court case overt he past three weeks.

Titford has been granted bail. He will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on 1 March with Kaylea's mother, Sarah Lloyd-Jones, who had admitted the same charge previously.
