Narrow escape for motorists as lorry tips over

Motorists in today's accident on the A483 at Newtown are understood to not be seriosuly injured.

A lorry overturned on the Robert Owen roundabout at the Welshpool road end of the Newtown bypass this afternoon, striking a Land Rover Defender and scattering its load on the roadside.

It's yet another accident involving a heavy goods vehicle on the roundabout since it opened.

The Wales Air Ambulance was called to the scene along with other emergecy services. It is understood nobody was seriosuly injured.

The road has remained closed to allow the vehicles to be removed. It has caused major traffice disruption at the peak rush hour.
