Town's safety study continues

24/06/2022 @ 12:55
Women in Newtown are being urged to take part in individual "walk along" interviews about personal safety in Newtown.

The Llanllwchaiarn and Newtown Personal Safety Study is underway to help identify areas and routes where people don't feel safe in the town.

This includes a proposed safe route between Llandllwchaiairn and Newtown.

Now, the study wants women to come forward to have interviews about public safety.

"The first workshop as part of the Llanllwchaiarn and Newtown Personal Safety Study took place last week and we received very useful feedback. Thank you very much to everyone that took part and shared their concerns and views with us relating to safety on the path," said a spokesperson for Sustains Cymru who are undertaking the study.

"The second drop-in workshop will take place on Tuesday, 12th July 2022 at Northside Community Hall, 6.30-8.30pm.

"At this session we will be identifying solutions which could address the concerns and problems identified in the first workshop. Everyone is welcome and you don’t need to have attended the first workshop to come along."

The spokesperson added: "As part of the wider Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Personal Safety Study, we're inviting women to take part in individual ‘walkalong’ interviews with our women researchers. These interviews will take place in June and July and will last between 30 to 45 minutes."
