Rail services suspended

Rail services along the Cambrian Railway from and to Newtown have been suspended.

Transport for Wales said numerous trees are down along the line. Services to Shrewsbury and Machynlleth will not resume until at least 12noon, although passengers have been urged to check online for live services.

High winds battered the area overnight with reports of some minor roads closed to to branches and trees on the road.

Motorists are being urged to be careful due to debris on the roads.
