Budding entrepreneurs in Newtown and the surrounding area are being invited to take part in a Summertime Start-Up series of events.

Focus Newtown Enterprise Hub have launched a series of virtual workshops from this week for those interested in launching their own business.

Summertime Start-up is a fully funded seven-week series, created with aspiring and existing entrepreneurs in mind, and will run from this week to 31st August.

Week one is cover creating new business ideas. Week Two will focus on testing ideas on a budget. The aim of week three is to introduce people to the Business Canvas Model.
Week four will look at low-cost marketing tools. Week five will cover social media.

On Week six attendees will explore online stores and finally, Week Seven will round off with a pitching session. To get the most out of the series, it’s strongly recommend signing up to all of the sessions or watching the recordings.

Holly Jones, Hub Manager at Focus Newtown Enterprise Hub, said: “Summertime Start-up is all about helping people to turn their business ideas into reality.

"Whether it’s a small baking business from their own kitchen, or they’re thinking of something bigger, this series gives people the chance to slow down and think about where they want to take their idea.

"Attendees can simply log in from the comfort of their own home, or they could book a co-working pass the Hub and join in virtually from there. It’s not too late to join!”

Paul Stepczak, Bids and Commercial Consultant at Wales Co-operative Centre, added:
“This series is perfect for anyone who may be interested in going down the self-employment route but can’t decide what to do, delivered in a way that’s easy to understand for those completely new to the idea of starting a business.

"These sessions are ideal for people that are unemployed, have been made redundant, people looking for a ‘side hustle’ whilst at work or retired individuals looking to do something new. Everyone is welcome.”
