Name chosen for new playpark

The name for Newtown's new playpark will be Severn Playpark - Maes Chwarae Hafren.

Town councillors last night agreed to the name following a consultation with other organisations and the public.

The other names put forward were Robert Owen Playpark and Sabrina Playpark.

Councillors voted eight in favour of Severn Playpark, three for Robert Owen Playpark and none for Sabrina Playpark.
