Station ticket machines needed listed building consent

Two automatic ticket machines needed for Newtown Railway Station had to receive Listed Building Consent.

The ticket machines, on both platforms, are replacing the privately-run ticket office at the station which closed at the start of lockdown.

But Transport for Wales, which operates the railway station on the Cambrian Railway, needed Listed Building Consent as the railway station is Grade II listed.

Powys County Council approved the plans last month.
