A special meeting of Powys County Council is to be held following a motion of no confidence in Cllr Myfanwy Alexander, its Portfolio Holder for Learning and Welsh Language.
In a statement, the council said: "Powys County Council will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday, 25 September to discuss the following motion from Councillors James Gibson-Watt and Jackie Charlton: ‘That this Council has no confidence in the current Portfolio Holder for Learning and Welsh Language to lead the education Service to address and remedy the weakness identified in the July 2019 Estyn Report into Powys County Council, many of which are weaknesses identified previously by Estyn (2007 and 2011) and the Wales Audit Office (2012 and 2017).’"
