Motorist found hiding under caravan after rolling car

It has emerged that a motorist over the legal alcohol limit rolled their car on the road between Abermule and Montgomery before hiding under a caravan where police found him.

The incident happened last week when Newtown Police were called to a car that had come off the road and was badly damaged after rolling.

"The consequences of Drink Driving," said one of Newtown Roads Policing Unit's officers. "Driver rolled the car and was found hiding under a caravan between Abermule and Montgomery to avoid arrest. Currently in hospital for injuries received in the collision."

It is understood the motorist was arrested and charged but was not seriously injured.
