Unauthorised roadworks will not take place

20/06/2019 @ 07:13

Planned repair works by Network Rail at Nantoer Bridge in July that would have involved traffic lights and road congestion will not happen as they were unapproved, according to the Mayor, Cllr David Selby.

Signs were put up by the bridge in Llanidloes Road warning of the work from 1 to 5 July between 8am and 5pm.

With gas pipeline works taking place along the road it could have caused a nightmare for motorists and residents.

According to Cllr Selby the work had not been approved by Powys County Council.

He said: "Powys Council inform me that these works on Nantoer Bridge have not been approved.

"They have asked Network Rail to reschedule until after the gas works on Llanidloes Road have been completed. The signs should be removed soon."
