Police have revealed a ram-raid and break-in at a Newtown motorcycle business saw £30,000 worth of products stolen and damage caused to the building.

The burglary, which happened shortly after 3am on Saturday, 4 May, involved a ram raid by a white transit van at Freestyle Bikes, St Giles Business Park.

Two blue and white Yamaha bikes and a white and blue HUSQVARNA bike were stolen.

They are worth £18,649 in total. Damage thought to cost £12,000 to repair was also caused during the incident.

Officers are searching for those responsible and appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They believe there were three men involved, who spoke with Liverpool accents.

The van entered Newtown on Pool Road at 1am, and made off in the direction of New Road at around 3.10am. The van was found abandoned in the Llys Dulas area of Newtown a short while later.

Anyone with information that can help officers with their investigation is urged to contact Sgt. Matthew Price at Newtown Police Station by calling 101.
