Management Accountant 

Overview:

Responsible for maintaining the Cost Accounting System to enable detailed understanding of current and future product and manufacturing process costs. Working closely with both the Global Manufacturing Operations, Marketing, R&D Product Development and Procurement Teams to analyse and advise on costs of raw materials, manufacturing process and product design decisions with the objective of systematically removing cost and waste and improving product margins.

Reporting to the Operations Financial Planning Manager, this is a 12-month fixed term contract but with the potential to be extended.

The successful candidate's main responsibilities will include:

Establish and maintain a system for recording standard and actual manufacturing costs by product and process in the UK manufacturing location.

Work with the Operations Financial Accounting and Planning teams to understand and explain Manufacturing performance.

Produce data and analysis to identify continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities in a lean manufacturing environment.

Work closely with R&D project teams to provide financial support and oversight through the new product development (NPD) lifecycle from concept to production.

Provide financial modelling to track and manage R&D project costs, provide financial oversight and direction through the project to highlight financial impact of decisions on the cost of the project as well as to the final product cost.

Transition of product costing data from R&D to production cost accounting department for a smooth transition into full production.

Work closely with the Strategic Procurement, R&D and Manufacturing Operations teams to identify, track and support VA/VE opportunities.

Create and assist in financial evaluation of NPD and capital project investments and review of investment requests before release to the required investment approvers.

Liaise with and share best practice with other CT manufacturing locations globally.

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

. Degree level in Business, Finance or Engineering.

. Professional Qualification (CIMA/ACCA) preferred.

. Skilled in financial modelling and analysis of large data sets.

. Organised with efficient planning of workload.

. Strong analytical skills.

. Cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

. Good written and oral communication skills to all levels.
