Local businesses and organisations are being urged to step forward to represent Montgomeryshire at a special showcase at the Senedd later this year.
Montgomeryshire MS Russell George will host Montgomeryshire Day on Tuesday, 11 November in partnership with the Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW). The event will put the county’s industries and produce in front of Members of the Senedd and invited guests.
Producers and community groups from across the area are expected to take part, with food and drink businesses playing a central role. The day will highlight the importance of the rural economy in sustaining jobs and supporting communities, while also promoting the county’s contribution to Wales as a whole.
Mr George said he wanted to see as many organisations as possible take part.
“Montgomeryshire Day is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the rich talent and first-class produce of our county here at the Senedd,” he said. “I am delighted to highlight the best of what Montgomeryshire has to offer and to ensure our businesses and organisations gain the recognition they deserve on a national stage.”
The event will also feature an evening reception to mark the FUW’s 70th anniversary, celebrating its long role in representing farmers in Montgomeryshire and across Wales.
Any local business or organisation interested in taking part is encouraged to contact Mr George’s office.
