More health cuts could be revealed this week, impacting Newtown and north Powys services.
It could affect treatments at neighbouring hospitals, including Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth.
The trust is attempting to alleviate a £22 million overspend.
On Friday, the Powys Teaching Health Board will meet with specific actions being discussed, including a recruitment freeze, further tightening of control on agency expenditure, working with providers of NHS services in England to slow down elective activity for closer alignment with current NHS Wales waiting time standards.
"The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available from the health board website from Tuesday 7 January 2025. Meetings of the Health Board take place in public, and the health board website will also provide a link so that you can follow the meeting online via Microsoft Team," said a statement.
"The meeting will receive an update on the Health Board’s financial position, and discuss potential further actions that could be taken to support the Health Board to improve the financial outlook for 2024/25."
