Talented local musicians are being urged to enter the 2025 Gregynog Young Musician Competition, with the finals being held at a new venue just across the border this year.
Founded in 2005, the event has become a prestigious annual event and will see its semi-finals and finals played out at the Maidment Building at Shrewsbury School, switching from Gregynog Hall.
Entrants must be aged 18 or under and have reached Grade 8 or equivalent on any orchestral, brass band or percussion instrument.
Up to 18 contestants are selected to perform in the semi-finals in front of a panel of specialist adjudicators on November 1 during the day followed by the Finalists’ competiton in the evening.
Five semi-finalist winners will be chosen to compete in the evening for the title of Gregynog Young Musician of the Year.
