Fostering for New Year resolution?

Montgomeryshire faces a shortage of Foster Carers resulting in the Powys Fostering Team issuing a New Year appeal.

 

Powys Fostering Team is asking local residents if they can ‘make fostering your New Year’s resolution’ and are particularly keen to hear from people able to meet long term needs of children coming into foster care.

 

Fostering Team Manager Lisa Hocking said: “Whilst we have some excellent Foster Carers providing children and young people with loving and supportive homes, there is always a need for more people prepared to meet the long term needs of the wide range of children coming into foster care.

 

“We are especially keen to hear from people experienced in living and working with children and young people who require high levels of support and supervision including teenagers, sibling groups, parents and babies and children with challenging behaviours.”
