Cadets come top in national radio exercise

Air Cadets from 2416 Squadron Newtown have done well in a national HF radio exercise, while their counterparts from 2364 in Welshpool came first.

The cadets were involved in a national exercise were thye had to contact other stations across the UK. Newtown Team 2 came joint second with Welshpool Team 2, while Newtown Team 1 came fourth. Welshpool Team 1 came first overall, contacting every station taking part in the exercise.

"This is a massive achievement by the cadets to take the top four places nationally within the Air Cadet Organisation.

"The staff and families from our sector would like to congratulate every single one of them for their efforts and dedication which is shown by the results, keep up the good work and enjoy it," said Richard Evans, a Civilian Instructor with the Air Cadets.
