Robins sign AFC Liverpool striker

Newtown Manager Andy Cale has added more firepower to his attack by signing free scoring AFC Liverpool striker Steve Jones.
The Liverpool club were formed in protest at gate price increases at Anfield and Jones has notched 15 goals so far in the Vodkat League Division One (formerly the North West Counties League).
Cale has beaten off stiff opposition to land the 23 year old striker with Kendall Town looking favourites to land his signature until Jones watched the Robins against Llanelli on Wednesday night.
He was impressed by what he saw and put pen to paper after the game and as long as international clearance is received will be in the squad against Airbus tomorrow.
"He is just the type of young player we are looking to recruit with a view to keeping Newtown in the Welsh Premier League and building for the future," said Cale.
"Wherever possible we will look to recruit locally and keep players at the club as we have done with contracts for Shane Sutton, Adam Worton, Jamie Breese and Josh Evans.
"The target is to keep Newtown competing at the top level of football in Wales within a budget that the club can afford and that is a difficult challenge bearing in mind the budgets of other clubs," added Cale.
Central defender Michael Jackson completes a two match suspension otherwise the Robins are at full strength.
The game sees the return of central defender Gavin Cadwallader to Latham Park as well as former favourite John Leah, who has moved from Rhyl to the Airfield this week on an 18 month contract.
