Liverpool starlet joins Newtown

Liverpool starlet Sean Highdale has joined Newtown on loan until the end of the season.

The highly rated midfielder has just returned to Anfield from a spell on loan at Oldham Athletic and is set to make his debut for the Robins at home to Llanelli on Wednesday night

Highdale, who captained Liverpool Youths and was an Englad Under-16 international, has made a full recovery following a 2008 horrific car crash which claimed the life of two of his friends and left the youngster fighting for his life.

At the time, the then17-year-old had developed a reputation for showing the type of fight that embodies the very spirit of Liverpool Football Club and he needed every bit of that grit and determination to pull through and rebuild his life.

Back to full fitness he was sent out on loan to Oldham this season but has returned to Anfield after dropping down the selection pecking order to some new Oldham signings.

Manager Kenny Dagliesh wants Highdale to get more games under his belt and has recognised the opportunities for the youngster at Latham Park.

“I am excited at the prospect of seeing Sean playing for Newtown,” said manager Andy Cale. “He had a fantastic career art Liverpool mapped out until the terrible accident.

“He has worked tirelessly to rebuild both his body and his career and has a real opportunity to shine at Newtown. He is just the type of player we need at this stage of the season.”
