All players registered with resigning Newtown Sunday League side The Angel, Newtown are facing £15 fines before they can register for any other club.
The side resigned leaving debts for unpaid pitch rental and picked up a £50 fine at a league meeting this week.
And high flying The Oak, Llanidloes have been docked three points and fined £20 for failing to fulfill their fixture with The Angel, Welshpool on January 2. They did not attend the meeting and did not give any reason for not playing.
The Cup draws were made for the two competitions –
Simon Jones-Evans Cup starts on February 6 and will see the following ties – Abermule v Forden (winner at home to Crown); Elephant Llanidloes v Red Lion (Winner at home to Oak Llanidloes); Elephant Wanderers v Churchstoke; Angel Welshpool v Grapes.
Roger Breeze Cup starts on February 13 – Crown v Abermule (winner home to Forden Utd); Elephant Llanidloes v Oak Llanidloes (Winner home to Grapes); Elephant Wanderers v Red Lion; Churchstoke v Angel Welshpool.
The finals for these events will take place at Newtown’s Latham Park on Sunday 17th and 24th April.
Following the withdrawal of the Angel Newtown, the fixtures for Sunday have been altered with the Oak v Crown game removed from the list and replaced with a league-deciding fixture between Angel Welshpool and Crown. The match will kick off at 10am to fit in with bookings at the Flash all-weather pitch and is sure to attract a decent attendance. The other new fixture will be Oak v Grapes.
