Mac: We’re in it to win it

Montgomery will be down to the bare bones when they take on Berriew in the final of the Montgomeryshire Cup at Latham Park tomorrow (Sunday).
With the final held over from last season, McNamee can only call on players that were available in the 2009-10 season and with several personnel changes since, he could be down to a squad of 11.
“It’s been very difficult to get a side together,” said McNamee (right): “Andy Green is on duty with his new club Llanidloes, Adam Williams doesn’t wish to play against his current club and Welshpool have asked Tom Evans not to play because they have a game on Monday. Chris Jones flies out to Las Vegas to get married on Monday morning so it’s understandable that he doesn’t wish to risk injury. So we are down to the bare bones.”
McNamee says the pressure will be off his side who will be wearing the underdogs tag and insists: “We're not going for the ride. On the positive side I have 11 lads who would do anything for this club and I know they will give their all against all the odds.
The experienced manager will be squaring up to good friend and rookie manager Neil Pryce who has enjoyed an unbeaten start to his managerial career at Berriew.
“We have been waiting for various things to fall into place to get this game played so we will just get on with it and I know the Berriew lads feel the same,” said McNamee: “One thing for certain is, there is no-one I would rather see win it than Neil Pryce and his Berriew team if we can’t.”
