Former Shrewsbury Town striker Gareth Partridge has signed for Newtown following protracted negotiations with the FA of Wales.
The 19 year old striker was released by Shrewsbury Town at the end of last season and returned to full time education but as he was a contract player without a club he has been allowed to register for Newtown.
Ruabon born he is a former Under-17 Wales international and was a regular scorer with Shrewsbury Town Youth and Reserves before his surprise release.
The youngster will be included in manager Andy Cale's squad for Saturday's game with Neath but he has so far been unable to link up with his new colleagues in training due to college duties.
