Williams Says Newtown Never Turned Up

Assistant manager Lee Williams described the Robins’ display in their 2-1 third round defeat against Bridgend Town last week as the “worst of the season,” while apologising to the Latham Park faithful.
“Bridgend were the poorest team we have this season but our lads simply did not show up on the day. It was a big match for us and we are massively disappointed to go out at the first hurdle,” said Williams.
"We will really need to show the type of performance that we did against Aberystywth if we are to get anything at Prestatyn on Friday night," he added
Defender Dave Swanick completes his suspension, while influential defender Gavin Cadwallader faces a late fitness test.“It is always a big match at Prestatyn,” said Williams.

“The crowd is always vocal and close to the pitch so we expect a battle.“The lads are hurting after the Bridgend defeat and desperately want to put things right.”

Meanwhile Williams backed new signing Marc Lloyd-Williams to revel having returned to the Robins attack.

“We are creating chances but not making the most of them at the moment,” said Williams. “With Jiws back in the squad we are confident we will soon start converting more of these openings.”
