Chairman undecided on Sunday football plans

Newtown Football Club chairman Mike Jones remains undecided on the best day to play Welsh Premier League games at Latham Park.
Despite the club's biggest gate of the season on Sunday against Aberystwyth Jones is yet to make his mind up on whether abandoning Saturday football is the best way forward for Newtown.
"Last week we played our first home match on a Sunday and the attendance of 389 was close to double our average gate," he said.
"!The crowd was treated to an excellent display and the return of Marc Lloyd-Williams appeared to be the catalyst.
"But even with the signing of Jiws, the manager still had only a squad of 13 players available but Dr Cale changed the formation and inspired his team to the most complete performance this season.
"A 2 - 0 scoreline would have been a fair reflection of the game but we had to settle for an entertaining 0 - 0. Aberystwyth remain in fourth place and we in tenth but we
dominated the game from start to finish which again underlines just what a tight league this is.
"There will be a WPL meeting later this month to discuss proposals for 'Saturday free' football with clubs encouraged to play Friday nights or Sundays.
"Our increased gate against Aber may not be a true guide as we had more last season on a  Saturday and on both occasions Aber brought good support with them.
"I believe that a winning team is the main springboard to good attendances but neither will happen overnight."
