Friday night was not kind on Newtown who are preparing for their second meeting of the season with Mid Wales rivals Aberystwyth this afternoon.
A win for Airbus and a draw for Afan Lido with high flying Llanelli saw the Robins slip a notch in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier which is extremely tight at the bottom.
But victory today over out-of-sorts Aberystwyth would return Bernie McNally’s men to eighth and they enter the game on the back of last weekend’s timely victory.
Newtown have lost skipper Lee Hartshorn whose work commitment will limit his availability to travel from South Wales so he has switched to Merthyr Tydfil. Matty Cook takes the armband.
Prior to the big kick-off, Newtown’s fans will take on Aber fans at 1pm.
