Newtown go into battle today against fellow strugglers Carmarthen Town knowing that these are the games to pick up points in the Corbett Sports Premier League.
Defeat last week at Airbus was cruel, leaving the Robins at the foot of the table and desperate for wins. And today provides a real opportunity at Latham Park against a Carmarthen side they beat 1-0 on the opening day of the season.
Manager Bernie McNally has strengthened his ranks this week with the loan signing of defender Jermaine Johnson from TNS who the manager described as “good news for the club”.
Johnson was in the Saints’ European side in the summer but has struggled to establish a place in the starting line-up since and is relishing a fresh challenge across Montgomeryshire.
McNally has a full squad to choose from for the 2.30pm kick off and there is a fans’ match taking place beforehand.
