Lights, camera, action, defeat

Two goals either side of half time saw Newtown suffer a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of big-spending Neath in front of the S4C cameras.

Newtown were still licking their wounds following a 9-2 thumping at the hands of Llanelli last week but in fairness they came out of the blocks determined to make a fight of it.

But the writing was on the wall after Matt Rees put the visitors ahead on the half hour followed 10 minutes later with a second goal from Luke Bowen.

With the visitors now very much in control, the game was over as a contest when Chris Jones added a third after 56 minutes and Neath wrapped up a professional day's work with the fourth three minutes from time from Kerry Morgan.

It leaves Newtown deep in trouble at the wrong end of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier table.
