Uphill task ahead for Robins

Newtown face a massive uphill challenge if they are to make further progress in the Europa Conference after crashing 4-1 in Slovakia tonight.

The Robins found the going tough against a very strong FC Spartak Trnava side containing internationals all over the field in the 2^nd Qualifying Round.

It all went wrong for the Robins in the first half with Bamidele Yusuf hitting a hat-trick with goals in the 17^th, 41^st and 44^th minutes with Henry Cowans hitting a 32^nd minute response.

Things got even worse in the second half when Alex Ivan netted a fourth for Spartak Trnava in the 75^th minute to leave Newtown with an almost impossible task at Park Hall, Oswestry next Thursday.
