Full strength Newtown on Faroe Isles

Newtown go into tonight’s Europa Conference League tie against Havnar Boltfelag of the Faroe Islands with a full strength squad.

Manager Chris Hughes told the club’s website that his side had enjoyed a training session at the club’s home ground in the capital city of Torshavn last night and were ready for tonight’s game.

“Training went well, we had a good one hour’s session at the stadium which is a very good facility and also has a 3g pitch which we are obviously used to, meaning there will be no surprises for us come the time of the game kicking off.”

 “I am happy to report that there are no injuries, and we have a full squad to chose from for the game. We will have a meeting in the hotel prior to the game where we will announce the starting XI, which will be a difficult decision, but it will be selected upon what we feel will give us the best chance of getting a positive result.”

“The mood is good; we are pleased to arrive in the Faroe Islands, and we are all looking forward to putting on a good performance and achieving a good result ahead of the second leg next week.”
